Groundswell Newsletter

This is Groundswell’s first newsletter. It connected a network of 400 campaign projects and individuals. 27 quarterly editions shared information, expanded the Groundswell network and encouraged participation at the first Groundswell national Forum.

This object highlights the fast increasing network of groups and individuals who were dissatisfied with the policies of central and local government in regard to socially excluded people.

At a time before the internet was widely used to organise direct and collective action, the newsletter played a key role in increasing the numbers of the network’s members.
